"Inspired by the life and work of Vincent van Gogh, fashion and lifestyle brand Daily Paper has designed a capsule collection together with the Van Gogh Museum, incorporating several of Van Gogh’s masterpieces into a range of garments. A collaboration which sees the worlds of fashion and art merge."
On February 14th 2020, Dutch Amsterdam based clothing brand called Daily Paper collaborated with the Van Gogh Museum. The reason why I didn't directly published this article is because I believe that fast fashion isn't something I want to write about anymore. I would like to write about more things I love instead of what's trending. So I also believe that times has changed, especially now with the Covid-19/Corona virus which is going on. A lot of people can take a step back, and reflect on the things we are doing. Someone also asked me what my purpose was in life, it wasn't "being famous" or something along those lines. Some people also have a whole different point of view when they look at me first, and then talk to me after. I think we all have some prejudices first, that's normal. That's how people work, even if you don't want to have any prejudices. You still have them. I find it funny, how people can judge you and are surprised when they find out that you are the opposite.
A few weeks before the actual launch of Daily Paper x Van Gogh Museum, I got a press release in my inbox. I got very excited because here is where art meets fashion, in a clear and direct way.
The lookbook photos were shot by photographer Nick van Tiem, and also in Amsterdam. The great thing about this collaboration is that the people from Daily Paper connects with Van Gogh himself. Which is about an ordinary life.
I went with my dear friend Shradha to the launch in Amsterdam. We got a goodie bag, with a shirt, totebag, file with information about their collaboration, and also a nice book about Van Gogh himself.
Here are the pictures I took of the launch day.
We also got a small tour about some pieces of Van Gogh in the Van Gogh Museum.
Release party in the museum, which was really nice! It was also my first time in the Van Gogh Museum so it was an awesome experience.
Loves,
